能代七夕 天空の不夜城
2013年、約1世紀の時を超えて復活した能代七夕「天空の不夜城」。中世能代を治めた檜山城主、安東愛季(ちかすえ)に因んだ高さ日本一の「愛季-ちかすえ-」(24.1m)。江戸時代、名古屋城を模した城郭灯籠を初めて作った大工宮腰嘉六に因んだ「嘉六-かろく-」(17.6m)。天にまで届く2基の城郭七夕灯籠が街を練り歩く姿は正に圧巻です! Tenku no Fuyajo is an annual festival in Noshiro city. It features one of Japan’s tallest lantern floats towering at 24.1 meters! This float, along with a few others are pulled down the main street by locals every year.

能代七夕 天空の不夜城 2023年8月2日、3日の開催は終了しました。 The festival for 2023 was held on 2 & 3 August.
Did you know? The image of ‘Chikasue’, Japan’s tallest castle lantern float, was used in the stage background of NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen (a popular annual New Year’s Eve television musical special in Japan) broadcast on New Year’s Eve in 2022.
